New Beginners
IF YOUR New Year’s Resolution was to get fit whilst at the same time learn something worthwhile, you can KICK start your campaign by taking up Korean martial art Taekwondo.
Lessons are available whether you want to practice individually, with a friend or with your family. It’s something for everyone to enjoy.
New beginners’ lessons are now taking place in Wolsingham and are being taught by Katey Wallace, former 4 times British Champion and international competitor.
“At the minute we have mostly families practicing Taekwondo which is what it is all about. There are not many activities nowadays that families can practice together and it has so many benefits for people of all ages, including fitness, flexibility, co-ordination, self confidence and discipline,” 5th Dan Instructor, Katey Wallace explained. “Martial arts is also one of the few things can families can all do together at the same level. We have lots of parents who really enjoy training with their child or children. It’s a great hobby to get into,” she said.
Beginners lessons have started at Wolsingham Working Men’s Club on a Wednesday and Thursday evening 7-8pm and start from the age of 7 years old. For more information on joining the friendly club please contact Katey on 07901 650 796 or visit www.kimchungdo.com.
