Kim Chung Do Kwan

Master Kim Yong Ho, student of Grand Master Uhm Woon Kyu commenced Kim Chungdokwan in the UK in 1991.

Originally, it was a Kwan within the Kwan of Chungdo based in the North of England, and its members were made up of Blackbelts only.

The purpose of the Kim Chungdokwan was a vehicle for Master Kim Yong Ho to pass on his in-depth knowledge of the Martial Arts.

On the 17th February 2001, a major change occurred to Kim Chungdokwan. Master Ron Brennan was promoted to Chief Instructor of Kim Chungdokwan UK and the Kwan was expanded to Kup grade students, so making Kim Chungdokwan UK, Master Kim Yong Ho’s own club within Great Britain.

Through this medium, Master Kim taught his knowledge to the students.

Master Kim lived and taught Taekwondo and Mudo at Kim Chungdokwan’s Dojang in Darlington, North East England.

Master Kim lived in Darlington from 20?? to 20?? during which time he produced the Pal Jung Do system of Poomsae and the advanced Pal Mudo system of Poomsae.

Also, during this time, Master Kim produced the World Taekwonmudo Academy Manual/Book indicating the in-depth philosophy, breath control and techniques incorporated within the Pal Jung Do Poomsae.

In 20?? Master Kim returned to live in Paris and Master Ron Brennan expanded the practice of the Mudo Academy techniques through Kim Chungdokwan UK.

Master Kim Yong Ho has now returned to South Korea to take up important positions within Taekwondo for the furtherance of the True Martial Art Way.

Through Master Kim’s instruction, Kim Chungdokwan UK is now ready to expand the knowledge throughout Great Britain. As of 2010, it is Master Ron Brennan’s (Chief Instructor) intention to open up the Kim Chungdokwan UK to Associate Members.

This facility will enable new and existing students to acquire Master Kim’s knowledge.

Master Ron Brennan sincerely hopes that students will avail themselves to this opportunity, but as always, it is up to the individual to want to learn the real Martial Art Way.

The arrangement of Associate Membership is a loose arrangement designed only to give the opportunity for you to acquire access to Master Kim Yong Ho’s Way.

As an Associate Member, you will have access to our Competitions and more importantly, our Technical Seminars.

This is an open message to ALL Chungdokwan Groups within the UK.

All Chungdokwan groups are equally important. Why? Because we all practice the Chungdo Way.

We have been too long separated! It is time that we all came together once again!

I say this with no other intent than to bring Taekwondo Brothers back together. We are the same, or at least, similar.

I propose a forum where we can achieve the bringing back together of the Chungdokwan.

Please do not misinterpret my intentions. All Chungdokwan Groups are autonomous and will remain so. But, why not work more closely together as Grand Master Lee Won Kuk originally proposed?
